Take Action Now

Join the call for a "clean" Long Beach Values Act with NO CARVE-OUTS so we can ensure Long Beach stays an international city that values its diverse immigrant community, allows the community to engage with public services, and promotes public health and wellbeing.

Step 1: Share our video

Help educate and inform people about the harmful impact of the current policy's "carve-outs" by sharing the videos on social media.

Step 2: Call the Mayor and Councilmembers

Call Mayor Garcia and your Councilmember to let them know you want to see the carve-outs removed from the current Long Beach Values Act. To find your councilmember, click here.

Hello, my name is ________ and I (live / work / volunteer) in District ___. I am calling to ask that (Mayor Garcia or Councilmember _______) protect all immigrants by removing the "carve-outs" from the Long Beach Values Act.

With our communities increasingly under attack and families being separated each day, it's crucial that our city leaders do everything within their power to not deport any immigrant residents regardless of their background. Currently, the "carve-outs" included in the Long Beach Values Act give certain immigrants double punishment, create an unfunded burden, unfairly harm Cambodian refugees, and break community trust with the police.

It is not the job of the city to collaborate with ICE under any circumstances. Our city's job is to defend the dignity and civil rights of ALL Long Beach residents and respect due process for people regardless of past convictions. Will (Mayor Garcia / Councilmember ______) respect the rights of immigrants by removing the carve-outs from the Long Beach Values Act?
